MONTICELLO, Ind. (WLFI)- Movie Theaters and Entertainment venues will be allowed to re-open this week under stage 4 of the re-opening plan. While some establishments won’t be opening, others say being able to open now came in the nick of time.
“We’ve lost about 50 percent of our potential operating revenue for the year,” said Chris Peters the owner of the Madam Carroll.
Chris Peters has invested a lot of money into the Madam Carroll.
“We have all new engines all new systems on the boat as of March which, everything shut down from there,” added Peters.
While The Madam Carroll will be opening up next week, movie theaters in the Lafayette area will not. In a Facebook conversation with Goodrich Quality Theaters’ official page, the company said they don’t have a firm reopening date since the company is still restructuring.
They said until a new corporate management team is in place and new movies are released they won’t be opening. They said their best guess on when they might open is sometime in July.
For a smaller business like the Madam Carroll, they have had to get creative to stay afloat.
“You can buy a membership online now and you can get on any cruise you want for the rest of this year and the rest of next year so that’s helped with cash flow and planning,” added Peters.
Which is why they will be opening up to the public as soon as they can.
“We now kind of have that solid schedule for entertainment lined up,” added Peters. “If you visit the website we have stuff for kids for adults we have dinner cruises live entertainment so there’s a lot going on.”
The Madam Carroll will open their lounge dockside for the first time since the shut down a week from today, with live music every Friday starting next week. Their first cruise will be on Father’s day. For more information on their upcoming events click here.
